twin lakes ice

No safe ice, very little open water as of noon to-day 12-14-18 .  sam

    The upper lake was iced over to-day,but the lower lake had mostly open water & my buddy got a few nice chunky browns. He said the there were approx. 1 doz. people fishing.  sam

    Not much chance of real or lasting ice over the next 3 weeks it appears..Of course, that is how I like it..LOL...

    Thinking of fishing tomorrow they still ice free, if not let me know either way it save me a 40 minute trip lol

    MM, Just talked to a bud that was there this afternoon.No ice if any at either lake,but Tues. & Thur morns. til 9am lakes are closed to anyone other than waterfowl hunters. Also always best to wait til after 9am to be sure that there is no skim ice. Walmart in Greensburg was out of waxies & Maggots & Jimmy's won't have any for a couple of weeks. Boat house is on winter hours,you can call them at 724-832-7735.  good luck   sam

    No ice,but the fish are still biting. lots of room,no skeeters,just remember to bring your new license. The boat house will still be closed til the end of next week    sam

    There was a picture in todays Trib. of a guy that was fishing yesterday at the lower lake on approx. 7" of ice. With the forcast for the upcoming heat wave it's (  be there or be square )   sam

    As of this afternoon (2-14-19) lots of open water on the lower lake very little on the upper. Only 1 guy out while I was there.Water was pretty dirty looking. So far only 4 tagged Trout out of the 2 doz. that were stocked in Nov. were turned in. 2 were caught in each lake. you can buy your new badges for $10 at the boathouse.  sam

    Ice free and extremely windy today. Saw a few guys fishing. I was not.
