anyone know

boat with wheel setup are all setups universal I mean the steering arm and cables ? can you go from a 25hp to say 60 without buying new controls ?

    PAJAY a boat's steering mechanism, if installed by the mfg, will be for the maximum horse power listed on the data plate on the boat. However, universal replacements are available and do get installed by "back yard mechanics". If you're not sure if the steering unit is OEM, wouldn't be a bad idea to get the mfg/model from the steering assembly data plate and contact the company. May even find the rating listed on the plate.

    That's just my 2 cents and I'm sticking to it. 😊

    Went from 10 to 25 w/ no issues. However, would check first.
