unusual sight

While watching 3 Ospreys at Twin Lakes yesterday, I saw one hit the water & come up with something. As it came over I could see that it was a lure that it still had in it's talons. I would think that it was a Rapala type that the bird thought was the real thing. I hope that the bird managed too shake it off or it could be in serious trouble when it tries to land in a tree.  sam

Geez yeah, hope the bird is able to drop that lure.  Many states prohibit the use of lead split shot because of the effects on water fowl and such.  I have tough enough time catching fish now so I can't imagine, how I'll do, using lures with no hooks!!!

Give a man a fish and you will feed him for a day; teach a man to fish and you will feed him for a life time. ~Anne Isabella Thackeray Ritchie (1837–1919)~
