up-date at lower twin

I just came back from Lower Lake,there were approx.1 doz. guys on the ice. I talked to a few near the boat house 1 guy said there was 4" 3 guys to the left of the dock said there was about 8" where they were. All said that the fishing was slow but while I was talking to them a guy caught a nice rainbow. There were a few guys out over 1/2 way. I didn't make it to the upper lake. If you go, good luck. BE CAREFUL.  BTW The rest rooms are heated & open.   lol  sam

    The rest of the month is trending above normal with rain involved..Hoping for some open water by end of month Sam!!! You know ME!...

    Den,Guarantied some open water by then. We will be Crappie fishing on one of the lakes. As long as I can remember we do so by Feb. 28.  sam

    There is now some open water at both lakes & trout are being caught. My bud was there this afternoon to pick up his ticket saw a guy catch a tagged trout after about 15 min. of fishing. There is more open water at the lower lake,but that may change with the rain that is called for to-nite. Ice fishing is done for the year there I think. A fun tip for guys IMO where possible is to cast on top of the ice & drag it off slowly. Very often the trout will be hiding under the ice & will come out & slam your offering. Don't throw anything too heavy or it will break through.  BTW  Dennis that counts as my guarantee for this year. lol  sam
