Synthetics
I will be tying some hair jigs for smallies soon & would like to know what difference there is between the craft fur & fishair. I've used the craft fur in the past for float-n-fly's & really liked the way it handles but never used fishair.

Polar Aire can be hard to track down but is a fantastic material. Tough and very fluid, I have Wiper streamers made from it that have lasted years and dozens of fish.

Thank you Luvin'...found it online & placed an order. Oh by the way, I live only about a mile from Arthur & have been chasin those wipers for about 15 yrs. I've never taken one on the long rod. Are you throwing shad/alewive imitations or top water poppers?

Hey, I love fishing lake Arthur! I get most of my Wipers on the Ohio river though. I caught the fish in my avatar on the Polar Aire streamer I use. It was 10 and a half pounds. Here's the pattern. The Largemouth on Arthur like it too! I throw it on heavy tippet and have only hadone bitten off, that by a Pike.

You guys really need to check out the Enrico Puglasi sparkle... you wont tie wiper flies with anything else. It littlerally looks like a baitfish. When they say 'Just the right amount of flash' they hit the nail on the head. You can make a shad pattern like no other.

Think of it like his fiber with hints of very small crystal flash fibers, real thin... thread thin. Its awesome stuff.
