Herdy der herher

fish commission sucks...how do they keep screwing up trucks??????? I keep catching brookies in lakes in westmoreland county.

I used to help them stock ligonier and somerset and not once were the trucks right. And the new thing is they are not allowed to disclose how many fish they dump anymore.

HAHA, looking forward to the license increase. Might have to pick up a different hobby. I hear cooking meth is fun and interesting.

I was talking to a guy at a ramp lately, he claims that the state accidentally stocked pickerel in a certain lake, which has lead to the lake's decline.  make no sense.  1, i dont think they stock pickerel anywhere.  2. pretty hard to imagine pickerel being mistaken for a truck full of walleye fingerlings.

but it is also the state that stocks over native/wild trout with pelletheads.  and stocks 5,000,000 catfish a year.

I fished Laurel Hill lake about three years ago during the early March stocking when fishing was legal.   After the stocking I started fishing.  There were maybe 10 guys fishing.  The first 3 or 4 fish I caught were all brook trout.  I saw the deputy who stocked a couple of days later and told him that.  He said everything they stocked were rainbows and the brookies must have came yup from Jones Mill Run.

I had helped to carry maybe 5 buckets myself and never thought to pay attention to what fish were stocked.  Never did believe they only stocked rainbows that day.

They've been stocking the lakes with brookies for the past few year.  Must be a reason why, cheaper to raise them maybe?  Or maybe because they are easier to catch.

not what is indicated on the stocking schedule, brookies are too sensitive to lake habitat and were limited only to mountain runs and mountain streams

Again why don't they disclose this on the stocking site... there is a lot of gray area when it comes to fish commission lately.. also found out some info on keystone select fish that is sure it **** some people off

Visit the lake check out the stringers. Their list hasn't matched what they stock the past 5 years.
