Whacky worm

I love the WW fishing technique, it has been effective in all types of situations and waters. My problem is that its hard to get a good hook set using 6lb line and I feel like the hooks are a bit small. I have my hood spit about 40% of the time.  Any suggestions would be great.

I used 6lb and 15lb braided line using whacky rig with size 2 bait hooks. I feel i get way better hook sets with the braided line you can detect bites a lot easier and there is no stretch when you go to set the hook. And as far as hooks goes I'd def recommend a size 2 or bigger. Also when the bass goes to jump I like to get my rod down close to the water while keeping rod tip bent seems to help prevent them from shaking out the hook.

I've been having luck with size 1 and 1/0 wide gap finesse hooks for wacky rigs. I also use the wacky rings to help the worm last more than a few fish.

I use either these or these....

And times like now when the fish are holding a bit deeper due to the extreme heat, I'll even use these wacky jigs
