Connoquenessing Creek

Has any one ever done ANY fishing in Connoquenessing Creek below zelienople? I was wondering. I read that pfbc loaded it with walleye and muskie. Is that true?

     Used to fish it years ago when I was a kid. Was 1 great small mouth waters. Used to almost lived in them waters. Would catch a bunch of soft shells and wade the creek and have a  time of my life . As far as walleye and muskie not sure. Years ago there was a roamer that pfbc  had stocked them but never seen any. been wanting to give a try again. Let me know how you do.  Would fish it from Fombell store east for about 4 miles. used to be a lot of nice deep holes down that way. Good Luck

    Used to fish it east of 79 - just past Hartman's Golf Course.  People posted where I used to fish and have not gone back to find another good spot.  Lots of smallies

    Well I fished from camp run down stream about 100 yards this evening had alot of hits cought 2 smallies one about 15 inches the other was 6 maybe. Will probably go back but we'll see what happens.

    Use to fish around the bridge next to Penn Power years ago, caught quite a few smaller and carp.

    It's been 35 yrs since I fished it. Used to be awesome for smallies and the occasional 20lb carp.
    Softshells were the ticket.

    I think you are correct. There where soft shells everywhere, But I was to lazy to pick them up. I also don't think a lot of people fish this stream. I had a lot of hits between 4&6 pm. And not a lot of evedence of people being there.

    Waded Connie for many, many years always caught something mostly with Mepps or other spinners. Usually kayak it now. Smallies co-operate with black zoom worms, 6 inch. My buddy "caught" a 30+ muskie July '13 down from rt. 19 on zoom. We were in kayaks and couldn't get it out of water. Also caught a couple walleye over last few years and smaller muskie long time ago. Close to home and nice launches in Zelie, Harmony, off of Ashstop Rd and a put in at 588/Pine Run Rd intersection.
