Keystone Power Dam

Got an opportunity to fish KPD yesterday. Was surprised to see the lake was about two feet below full pool. Did not have a problem launching, yet.
Managed to catch a half dozen crappies and several perch. Also had an unidentified submarine attach to my small jig. It literally turned my seventeen foot boat a 180* and towed me for ten yards before biting off. It had to be one of those "toothy" creatures that roam the lake. Nice day on the water.     Lou

What's kind of ironic or some might say even sad is I can catch fish there in open water, but have minimal success through the ice. It's almost like the fish disappear once it freezes. Yet most know there are some very nice fish in that lake or excuse me, "the Dead Sea."

I'm going out to Keystone power dam soon. What is the motor restrictions there? I've heard electric only and I've heard 20 hp limit. Never been there before and finding different answers. Thanks guys.

Fished Keystone Power Dam Friday for the first time this year. The docks are not in yet so launching and retrieval may require a pair of boots. The surface water temp was between 54* and 57* Probably eight to ten other boats out plus some "yakers." Caught two bass and no panfish. Speaking of the horsepower rating, there is some rumor that it may get changed to twenty like the State Parks but nothing definite yet. So 10 hp. is still the word. happy Easter to all.    Lou
