My youngest son & I went down at dark Sat. A man came in with boat & said the place was packed all day. Fished 'bout a hr. & tossed back 'round a doz. Crappie & a few Perch. Son took boat out last couple hrs. ov light yesterday
& brought home one ov the nicest limits ov Crappie/Perch I've seen since the lake opened in 1970. He wouldn't tell me where since he said I have a BIGGG MOUTH

when do the alewives and hybrids start showing up at night?  Tried a few times in the late summer last year but had no luck.  I was able to pull bait to my lights, but no hybrids.

I'd imagine it's more water temp dependent than time of year, but in the few years I've been chasing them I usually start around mid-May and find most of June to provide the best opportunities.  Mid July is usually when things seems to get less consistent in my experience.

Found them a few hours ago back in the finger the cabins are in, and a mixed bad at that. Just trying to get out of the wind.
