Soooooo since when is a  room in Altmar and a float trip a once in a lifetime giveaway.  I am sure they are nice rooms and a good guided trip but it's not Alaska.

Fishing for Steelhead isn't exactly what I consider a chance of a lifetime or a golden opportunity but, thank-you for the offer.

    I think its nice,
After all- they didn't have to do it at all.
Many of us cant or wont go to the aforementioned Alaska
a trip to Pulaski is much more reasonable.
Yes- its advertising -butttt- in a nice way
any other businesses up there giving stuff away ??

Also--as one who expected trouble out back of there -
observed a very  decent guard or private warden guy deal with fishermen in a real nice way. Not the way I had imagined- was nice to see they took the 'high road' approach to the Private areas.
    Said a lot IMHO.

Heck I entered for a chance. Won't say I didn't.   As far as folks giving stuff away many of the places do. The prize list for the catch and clean was all donated and there were a few float trips.

Some day I will dine there , sadly I will probably never fish behind the old school on south bank from foot again . If the food and company is good then it will be a return visit .
Hard to beat the chicken shack though ..
As for it being a fishing run ,,, ah, it always was and is a good hole

Guys back there were pushed right up to the deep water on the South side when walking in from the North.
Nobody bothered them unless they went to the South bank itself- and then it was  polite.
Had decent luck there 2 days in a row this season -  was the first time ever fishing that water..
With all the hubbub wanted to see the place and try it. Walked in from the bridge lot.
Next year when back to motels and eating out will likely try the resteraunt.
