Birthday bust ........well almost

Well not may knew my b day is just past Charlies and I usually take it off every year to fish.  Was meeting a friend so I decided the LFZ to start. He is always late and it is a good pace to meet. Got there at just before 8 and  by 830 I had gotten a nice steel on and a Coho on.  Good start.   Buddy shows up at 0930 and there is nothing else going on. I mean maybe 1 or 2 hook ups by 1100. We leave and fish the snag and I hook something on an egg sac, it fought like a brown.  Cross and go down to the conga line at the fridge and nothing there.  We put on a TON of miles and saw little to no fish. I usually remember most of my b day trips and this by far was the absolute worst one on record. Nearly no dead fish and very few eggs on gravel. This year is worse than last in my books. I was trying for some eggs, but luckily I have some from last year that thawed nice.  There were also a ton of people at each spot. More people then fish. Well Al least I won the pic contest so the day was not a total bust.

Well, I didn't know, I will remember next time. Glad you got to play with a few, I think that's going to be a theme this year, unless you put the marbles on.  Congrats and happy b-day- glad you won.

Thanks guy's. I got to spend it with a very good friend so even if I did not even see a fish it was an awesome day. Now let's get some rain.

Happy birthday. Sure beats working on your birthday at least you got out to enjoy the day. Looking like many cast are ahead for us and if you are fortunate to hook up you better close the deal. Best of luck to everyone that gets out. I'm a couple of weeks out before I get back.

Kind of a chilling testament to the conditions on the SR when only a half dozen or so fishing addicts are the only reporters here on a fishing forum that in years past  has enjoyed multiple posts by like minded  folks.
Hope it changes in future seasons.
Clearly the Hatchery folks are working full time on the present 'issues.
Happy B day Clint and congrats on the photo win.
    Keep on fishing---
