Couple from this past Friday to celebrate the boy's 12th birthday this week! The more I look at this one, the more I wonder if it's a weirdly colored steelhead or something else. Any opinions on whether it might be a coho or juvenile chinook? And no, I didn't think to look in the mouth before we released it.

It's a steelhead. I can barely see the inside of the mouth from the picture, but it is white. Also, a salmon wouldn't have a pink stripe down the middle.

this was a 30 inch female caught photographed and released elk creek! we fished all week end in new york with minimal success only landing 3 steelhead and one king. so on our way home we stopped at elk and ended up hooking into a few fish and this steelhead made the whole trip worth it!

Both my sons reeled in this fresh Steelhead this fall at only 3 years of age. Took them a while and got some help from Dad but they cranked for a few minutes on this big guy!

Devilhead caught a couple weeks back. Not sure the issue if any but both of the eyes were blood red.
