pretty good days

SONN, I had a couple of pretty good days with the jigs lately & the crowds were sparse. I guess that a lot of guys are sitting at their puters waiting for the run to start. Also it is good to see more guys practicing C&R instead of killing everything that they catch. The only prob. now is trying to decied whether to go blackpowder hunting or fishing, I can no longer do both. JIMMINY CHRISTMAS October is too short.  sam

Sam you're right about October being too"short" or is it we're moving too slow. Used to be able to archery hunt the morning do a little fishing mid day then hunt again in the evening. Now there are days I have trouble just getting out of the house. Have to do a better job of planning and then try to take advantage of every opportunity to do either, fish or hunt.

The fact that we are in front of the puter this time of day instead of being out there proves both of you are right.I used to always wonder what was on the other side of the hill, now I don,t care as much.  lol Remember what we used to be able to do all night now takes us all night to do.  sigh !    My father-in law used to jab me about getting up so early to hunt,he said for me to look at the front leg of the next deer that I got & see if it was wearing a watch, they can,t tell time.   sam

Thanks a whole bunch fellas; my gosh, all this time I thought it was just me.

I hit the woods just before sun up and I'm back at the house before 10:00 am. Typing on the puter 10 minutes later.

Gotta go, I hear a nap calling my name!!!!!

Heck no, I woke up and saw that it was dark, looked at the clock and thought it was 6:30 pm.  I hate when that happens but, stayed awake and staggered down to my hunting blind where I enjoyed my blueberry pop tarts and coffee before returning to the house for a nap.

Had a couple of more good days for Trout at Twin Lakes this week-end, Yesterday I got some Browns, Bows, Brookies & a palomino & to top it off I got a tagged Trout on the first cast.It would only been better if I could have caught one of the Tiger Trout that they put in. The TLFA stocked Sat.,now they want any member that catches a tagged Trout to come to the meeting on the 3rd Sun. of the month to redeem them,it is held at the boat house at 4:15 p.m.  Son I had a pretty good day.  My son got a 19"plus 8pt. with his compound, that means fresh liver without the work for me.  lol  sam

We used to Archery hunt on Saturday and fish on Sunday's. Now it's just fishing every chance I get. Glad to hear you guys are catching them and releasing what you don't need. Water has been real good and this weekend the Walleyes started really showing up.

Sam congratulations on your catching, especially a tagged fish, couldn't happen to a better guy.

A job well done to your boy for sure.

But, ya gotta cut back some, fishing with Roland Martin.
