Arthur 5/29

Crazy evening at Arthur this Friday.  Started with a traffic jam trying to get on 79N at Seneca... must've been graduation.  Stuck behind 40mph granny on 79 who then went 70mph on the back road.  Pull up to the launch, here comes a 22' Grady White hard top.  Pretty sure he got tired of driving and figured "this is close enough to Erie."

Lake was CRAZY windy.  Found a nice little perch hole, and the sky opened up on us.  Even though the storm cloud wasn't over the lake.  SIGH.  Ran and hid, then dropped the ladies off and it immediately cleared up.  Fished till 11 or so, couple of fish here and there.  Head back in, and the launch is FULL of net-tards thrashing the place for bait.  Which is fine, I don't have any problem with cast netting.  I DO have a problem with them being on the *@$(^$*(@ launches.  NO FISHING FROM LAUNCHES.  That means 100' around them too, and netting is fishing.  And I wouldn't even care that they are throwing between and around the launch, but GTFO the actual launch when a boat comes in.  I shouldn't have to dodge you resetting your net to get to my car.  Also, these same A-holes parked their truck and boat under the only light and left it there while they cast netted in 4" of water.  Ignorant assclowns.  No wonder everyone hates cast netters.

Even worse, why are they all right there anyway?  The bait is THICK in the lake, like 100 yards from the launch.  Go there, throw once, go fishing.  I never see any of these guys catch any bait, but every night they are right there in a big pack.

Anyway, lake was packed by the time we pulled out at 11 with still more people headed out.  Mid lake looked like the perch pack on Erie.  Crazy number of boats.  Can't believe these guys don't ram each other and sink.

Now that ought to give yinz something to think about.

Is there anything less reliable than PA weather?  The closest I came to fishing again this weekend was watching it rain on my uncovered pontoon.  It needed a bath anyway I guess.  We'll probably hit it again next Friday eve.

Better weather slated starting Wed. with milder temperatures and 'gentle winds'.  (Disclaimer: Forecast provided by the NWS,http://forecast.weather.g...=1#.VWt1Cc9Viko .

I can't make it til Wednesday; gotta finish up on the landscaping work at the house but, will appreciate the cooler temps. for Monday and Tuesday.  You can bet your pontoon I'll be ought Wed., Thurs. AND, Fri..  I don't do the weekends after Memorial Day; tooooo many Golfers on the water waiting for, or couldn't get (these fellas get testy), a Tee Time!

Had to cancel projects for today, still raining like that proverbial elephant.

Sitting at the parent's house now because our road lost power.  Cant move and cover the boat, but I could LAUNCH it in our driveway.  Stupid PA weather.  And while I believe it will be nicer the rest of the week, that "gentle wind" is a bold lie.  The lake is ALWAYS windy.  As in always.  In all four directions at once.  Wind is mother nature laughing at us, and she's a vengeful old hag at the lake.

Anyway, good luck out there.  Fish are bitin' if you do the right things.

Son and I hit Arthur today. If we kept catfish we would have had at least 7 or 8 pounds of fillets. Caught a lot of crappy, but only 3 keepers, also caught some smallmouth. Good Time !!!

Don't keep catfish?  Easy to fillet, great eating fish.  What's not to like?

Sure they aren't as good as crappie, but those things are uncooperative little b-holes.

I need to have a fishusa fish fry, and show you guys what good fish is.  When can you guys be here?
