Yellow Creek

Hello,
I am going to meet a cousin and her boyfriend who haven't fished in years at Yellow creek. I have not fished there in 20 years. 
Do you think we would do better fishing in the lake or up the stream that flows under 422 by the campground? I enjoy catching fish, and throw everything back.  
Any help to make it an enjoyable fishing experience for them would be appreciated. Fishing from shore or wading.
