coyotes

Anyone else here hunt them? Had my best hunt last night. Had them located but wouldn't come in.

Hands down the hardest critter I've ever hunted. I'm 0 for 3.

I've messed up in about every way possible...busted/busted again/missed/not shot...ect.

Same thing as BH said...hardest critter I've ever tried to kill.

Keep at it...It will all come together for ya.

Took me 8 years of gobbler hunting to finally kill a bird...then it just seemed easy.

Try to hunt with a partner...and buy yourself some whites - hunt in the snow.

Yea. I hunt them but killing them is different. I called in one this year with woodpecker distress and missed it.

Honestly I think skipping the locator calls and relying on scouting is best. Get into areas where you think there are and hit them with odd ball distresses like woodpecker, fawn, cat distress. Our coyotes are so tricky and educated here.

the main thing is the wind. they will come in down wind every time. u need a shooter 50 yds or more down wind. if u are in the woods. they will circle and get your wind and you wont even know they are there. if they started howling down wind, they probably already knew you where there.
