Daughters 1st trout on the fly

My youngest caught her first trout on the fly rod at Laurel Hill Trout Farm, great place for kids.
She wanted so bad to catch one on a dry, but we had no luck. So i switched to a bugger and she caught one right away.

    Good for BOTH of you!
My grandfather took me to Paradise Trout Hatchery in the Poconos when I was young to catch my 1st trout out of the pay to fish pond.
I still have one of their THINK TROUT stickers on my truck.
I begged him to go back about 6 times before I put my first pair of rubber hip waders on and joined the public fishing the stocked streams in the area.
Fishing is a great pastime to pass on to anyone you can in any way.
I had both my grandfathers and father to thank for getting me started.
    Its a healthy obsession...WCW

Thanks guys, I do take my kids out for "stockies" and my oldest caught her 1st native when she was only three years old as well. But we still like to take them there once a year to the trout farm just to have fun and try to catch a Pali or bigger breeder. I like to keep them interested at this age by finding a place like this or a good bluegill pond so the action is fast enought o keep them interested. Fee ponds are great for kids and a good place for her to practice with the fly rod.We had a blast

Thanks, My best memories now are with my girls, but the ones I made with my dad when I was a kid are right up there as well. He started me fishing when I was just 3 years old and Ive been a nut for it ever since.
I tyr to take both of them fishing as much as my schedule allows. I also hunt with my 10 year old daughter. Best thing is, I never pushed either of them into it. They just wanted to go..
