Hardware for samon?

Hello All
 
I'm heading up to New York this fall to do some salmon fishing. Will be fishing 18 mile creek, and maybe a few other nearby creeks. I was curious as to if any one has ever used any lures or spoons for the salmon. And if so what specific ones? Not sure if the typical trout lures/spoons I have will work. I know the salmon aren't eating and may hit a lure out of aggression or to protect a bed. And I'm pretty sure the browns and steelhead will cooperate some. I'm going to research this on the net, but figured I would consult the forums first. Always get good advice here. Again, thanks in advance for your thoughts and opinions.

    We used to do well off of the pier & in the surf using blue/silver litttle Cleos & K.O. wobblers,also I did well on yellow rooster tails & a buddy caught some on a large jointed Rapala. We used spinning gear with 17# test line. Sometime those big males would hit short & smash those treble hooks closed.Also at night they hit those glow in the dark Cleos.   sam

    Single hook only once you are upstream of the first bridge.  Expensive fishing , too, with all the snags and breakoffs.

    I'm aware or the single hook regulation, thanks. I talked to a New York biologist and he explained the law more clearly to me. The single hook is to prevent heavy trebles to be used for snagging. They are legal on floating  lures.  As for the snags and break offs. Its all part of the game. Thanks again.

    10'6 noodle rod with 8# Pline a trout magnet float and chunks of steelhead skien. or if u wanna be like the snaggers. 7' rod 20# test 3oz sinkers and mistertwisters.
