Donegal Lake low water

Anybody know why the water level is down at Donegal? I know we haven't been getting a lot of rain recently but the water was low even when we were getting all that rain this past spring. Water is down maybe a foot or two which is exposing a good bit of shoreline especially on the wooded side of the lake.

Unfortunately Donegal is suffering from the desease known as 'biologist'. While it is not fully understood why this "sick lake syndrom" has to happen, it is believed to be caused by over educated individuals who have too much time on their hands.

Go to the PA. Fish Commission web sight and search Donegal. You should find a news release explaining the draw down. However, the report sights a different time frame which, doesn't suprise me.

Sorry for sounding negative but, in my 55 years of angling PA. waters I've never seen the fishing (and hunting) as screwed up as it has been in the last 8-10 years.

Both commisions need more enforcement officers and NO biologist.

The draw down; to "control weeds". :-\

    Happy fishing.......

I know they draw the lake down over winter to "control weeds" but I don't think this is part of the weed control draw down.

I agree with you when it comes to the fish comm being messed up.  These weed control draw downs are a joke.  Shallow water=weeds.  You can't get rid of weeds by lowering a lake.  I've been fishing for 20 years or so and in that time i've seen declines in the fish populations on every body of water that I fish.
