Saugeye in Cross Creek?

Anybody ever hooked a saugeye in Cross Creek? The guy that ran the bait shop said to try crawler harnesses by the dam. I've trolled around several times while there but never have any luck. They seem either scarce or awfully picky.

Any input greatly appreciated.

probably just awfully picky.....they are stocked in there regularly and in the past, about 5-8 years ago I fished with my uncle almost every weekend we did decent on them. They are in there just try different methods and you'll get into them.

I know a guy that fishes Cross Creek regularly and frequently. I've never gone with him or fished there, but he said he does well on the saugeye in the spring [jig and minnow] as well as large crappies. He did say to not fish the easily accessible places, but to wade or motor out to more desolate areas.

I believe 2006 or 2008 was the last year suageye fingerlings were stocked in Cross Creek Lake. Walleye fingerlings have been stocked in recent years.
