Seeking advice for Sandusky area walleye fishing

Looking at my first trip in 10+ yrs for Western basin walleye; we'll fish toward the end of June. Looking for advice for our best odds--- I want my kids to have a great trip to remember!! :)
1). We'll be in Sandusky area (cedar point) - is it worth launching out of Port Clinton?
2). Troll or drift? Which is our best bet? We'll only have 1 day to fish.
3). LOU for Olcott...Fisherie for Erie/PA...what's a good active forum website for Port Clinton area fishing?
