Crappies on the fly

I target crappies frequently on a spinning rod with minnows or plastics under a float. What's everyone's favorite fly to target crappies? Figure I'd switch it up and try something new.

I sometimes use a streamer made from craft fur.  Usually white.  Works great at times.

    Same as DaveF

I use a white streamer with bead head or minnow head with rabbit fur in white.

Fishing is one jerk waiting for another on the other end.

Clousers work great.  Cheech's low fat minnow is pretty good too.  A simple bead in front of some marabou or craft fur is deadly at times too.  I usually just fish them with spinning gear though, under a bobber with a twitch or two & slow retrieve.  My control is much better with spinning gear, to get into brush piles and other structure.  If you are able to catch in open water, or great with placement, then wouldn't be an issue.  I'd personally go through 5 leaders in a day of crappie fishing with the fly rod (I'm usually decorating the brush piles with spinning gear too).  I have used a fly rod as a cane pole before, to vertically drop into structure pockets.

I like white crystal buggers with lead eyes or beadheads on a sinking line. I've caught a few like that...
