Opening Day Peeps

Just wondering what you guys' parties are consisting of if you are even going.

Me, personally, not going.  I really don't like to see people actout like children towards real children, and won't let my kids see that.  Give me a raft or canoe on the lazy days of summer with the kiddos and I'm there.  Plus too, the kids don't like getting bumped and banged around for a couple fish.

I'm taking my daughter.  If, however, the experience is negative and she does not respond to it well....we will leave for another, more peaceful time.

I have a meeting to attend, so I will not be out Saturday.  Maybe next week if the weather cooperates.

I'll decide tomarrow if and where I will fish. I have never fished the trout opener at a stocked and angler populated area. A matter of fact the last 3 opener's was at the aunt's pond, all to myself. No trout in there.

Man, sorry to hear that, some of my fondest childhood memories were from camping out, or getting up real early with dad and everyone for opening day.  Not sure where the heck some of you guys fish, but you act like people are out there just to ruin your day or something.  If you really wanted to you could avoid the idiots.  There are plenty of streams where you can do a little walking and have holes to yourself.  I have yet to have anything occur to me that prohibited me from enjoying opening day.

To answer your pole, I'll be with family and friends, always a blast.

Good luck to those that go!

Better enjoy tomorrow, if we get the weather theyve been talking about were screwed. Imagine lots of snow, then rain the next couple of days after.... floods.

Depends on the weather, I've been putting fish in for a month and have realy seen enough of them. Right now the streams where I fish have come up quite a bit and we're supposed to get more snow and rain today. May look for a small stream where the waters not too high or muddy, and give it a shot later in the afternoon after things have cooled down a bit.

There will be days when fishing is better than ones optimistic forecast, others when it is far worse. Either is a gain over just staying home.

Opening day was two weeks ago here in the land of the EAGLES,had a nice time and hooked into many pellet heads.Tomorrow I could head north about 30 miles and have another "opening day," but instead will fish a local C&R area and have it mostly to myself,I hope!

All joking aside, I'll be out with my perennial fishing partner...my 12 yr old son.  Seems like since he started fishing, I plan fishing trips around when he can go with me.  Can't remember the last time I fished solo.
