Why I missed the best part of salmon season.

http://s272.photobucket.c...%20to%20Cranes%20Beach
We took this trip at the end of Sept. after months of preparation to walk alot of miles uphill  and gain much altitude. The trip included the Southernmost Glacier in the US, the Palisade in the Sierra, many  high altitude lakes between 10-12,500 feet , catching brown, brook, rainbow, and goldens  in pretty high numbers, and mostly on dry flies. We also hiked in the oldest forest on earth, with the oldest living thing known to man, a Bristlecone Pine named Methuselah that is dated at 4700 years old. Since we flew out of Boston, I stopped and fished my favorite beach on the way home. The slideshow is actually in reverse order. I could write a book about this trip, it was certainly eventful and full of adventure and wonder.  I thought I'd share it and explain why I didn't swing flies for salmon this year. I will next year!  This is really off topic, but I thought my friends here would enjoy some of the pics.  I'll have a more river oriented report Fri. I'm leaving in 30 min. for scenic downtown Altmar/Pineville

Be careful Charlie you may have left already.   My pops told me Pulaski got hammered again today with close to a foot.

AWESOME!  Thanks, and good luck on the river.  Watch the weekend forecast, though, warming with chances of freezing rain.

I just finished looking at the pics.     Man I gotta respect you and your wife for your hiking and camping abilities.
