Genny is down to 1250 and there is no rain in the forecast. Except for the cold snap, could be a good weekend here at home, as the wife has already told me what additional appendages she will remove if I drive to Pulaski Friday night. Good luck if you go up, Fichy. L13

Erie's Elk Creek and 20 mile creek are the best Erie has.....And they tend to run low without the constant supply from a dam...The fish are sitting ducks stuck in pools....You'll see 20 guys surrounding a hole pounding away....The SR is the best and the local economy needs the fishermen it brings in.

Economies that depend on disposable. tourist income are the first to suffer and the hardest to sustain. Vermont has struggled to get out from the burden of having the ski industry be its driver. Over time, I think some changes may take place and other fisheries will improve. It's not that I want to see the SR area suffer, I just don't want to see it loved to death. I have a friend that grew up on Elk Creek and moved back there recently. He does alright on it. He likes it better than the SR.

Show me a guy who loves Erie over the SR and I'll show you a guy who likes to fish in camouflage neoprene waders year round. The only good part about Erie tribs is they have a wide bank in most spots so you can beach a fish if you don't have a buddy with a net.

Preferences differ like the change in wind direction... to each their own...
As for local economy, many would suffer if the fishery plummeted, but as a whole, the near by central NY economy has not taken the hit as hard as most... real estate has mostly been stable or growing. Syracus e has always been known as a moderately stable economy with no major dips or peaks...more so stable. Yes if the fishery vanished it would hurt the area but it would survive in my opinion.

Chartist, my friend has a Master's in English Lit. and taught at the Orvis fly fishing school. He's a great flyfisherman and could fit a dozen of the flies he uses there inside the gape of the hooks you use. For myself, I don't judge someone's ethics on what he wears, only on their methods.

DSR is Doug Barcley's way of telling you you have too much money! Wait a year or so and Andy Cuomo will figure out another way or two to help you with the problem. L13

Maybe in some cases but Most smokers or drinkers spend more (disposable) income on cigarettes and beer than a season pass and most likely more than any folks who buy the daily passes... I will say, if it continues to climb price for the season pass i may end up opting out...in all honesty While I'm at it, if cost of living continues to climb, **** it...I may start riding a horse and buggy...lol :);)
