There are some some around Walnut. I have had the pleasure of seeing them in my walks upstream this year.

I've seen four so far this year down here in Somerset County.  I saw either a young bald eagle or golden eagle working a road kill over in the spring.  Also so a pair of bald eagles one afternoon flying above and around Lake Somerset.  Then about 2 weeks ago a bald eagle jumped from a tree about 50 yards ahead of our car and flew over the car at about 50 feet up.  Love seeing them.

Often wonder how many more I've seen flying high and not realizing what they are.

Two years ago coming up Rt 79 I saw one sitting in the nesting box that sits at the top of the hill coming north right after lake Wilhelm.  Also saw one a couple of years ago south of Meadville soaring above rt 79.  Would have had no idea it was an eagle except the sun hitting the head and tail made it pretty hard to miss the white.

They are making one great comeback.I live in the Lehigh Valley and have seen two locally in the last month. One was sighted coming over my head at tree top level in Cedar Parkway right in the MIDDLE of Allentown,I have since learned that one has been around for quite awhile. The other one I saw was within 1/4 mile of my house which is located 6 miles west of Atown. They are getting quite common on the Delaware and upper Lehigh river.
Now if only the Pheasants could make a comeback :(

I live right outside Ambridge. We see eagles on the Ohio every time we fish it. Last week I was just about at the first red light in Baden, heading north, looked up and saw 3 eagles together, very cool !!

Can't remember the last time I made a trip to Pymy and didn't see at least one eagle. Never gets old watching them sweep down and nab a fish.  Saw what I believe was some sort of falcon out at woodcock this summer.  Was awsome to watch that bird stop and almost hover in mid air, then divebomb straight down into the lake and come up with a fish almost half its size.  Had a little trouble getting that one out of the water.

Here in Harrisburg we see them every time we float the river, and not just one. Usually anywhere from 2 to as many as 8 in one trip. We also have a lot of Golden Eagles that pass through here. We also saw a few on the Clarion this spring and I have never fished the Little J and not seen a bald eagle.

I live on Rt. 5, and have seen eagles many times along the lake.  I once spooked one at 7 mile, when there used to be fish in that creek all the way to Rt. 5.  He had about a 4  or 5 pound steelie in his claws.  It was like a small helicopter coming at me.

Thanks for putting up the pic beagler.  Wasn't close enough to it to make out the markings very well.  After doing some reading and watching a few videos, what I saw at woodcock was most likely an osprey not a falcon.

If it divebombed into the water instead of gliding down I'm pretty sure it would have been an osprey as shown in cbeaglers post.  They have had a nest on Lake Somerset for quite a few years and we see them fishing every year.

To date I have never seen an eagle glide over the water and grab a fish.  That would be one item I'd like to see on my bucket list before I kick that bucket.

I didn't see it glide in, but the one I saw was definitely an eagle.  I got a very close look at it.  This was back almost 10 years ago, when 7 mile would be full of fish from the mouth all the way up to Rt. 5.  The aquarium hole was full of fish, but too deep for the eagle.  It got the steelhead in some riffles below a small falls.

A resident pair near my house in Albion I see frequently in the mornings, also see them regularly near ud's tavern north of Meadville. Pymy is a gimme for seeing them.

Sorry Pete.  Wasn't questioning what you saw, I was trying to reply to crappieslayer.  I'm 99% sure an osprey couldn't get off the ground with an adult steelie.

On a different matter I did watch an osprey do what I would call harrassing an eagle all.  At Lake Somerset I watched these 2 birds and one was just flying at the other one and the one wanted nothing to do with the aggressor.  Finally the one bird flew to the west of the lake and the early morning sun hit the head and tail and I realized the one was the eagle.  I had assumed both were ospreys.   The other bird then returned to the osprey nest.

I would have assumed it would have been the other way around but perhaps there were young osprey in the nest.

I live on the Clarion River at Cooksburg in Forest County. We've had eagles, bald and golden, for years and yes everyone likes to see them but - - the river at this point is shallow and there is no protection for the fish from sky predators. Oh, we also have osprey, river otter and flocks of 50 or more common mergansers. What we don't have anymore are many fish. I killed a skunk recently and put it on the river bank. An eagle found it the same day and fed on it for three days. Also a young deer was hit on the road and someone threw it on the river bank and the eagles immediately began feeding on it. As I said in the beginning, everyone enjoys seeing the eagles but they can have a devastating affect on a small stream fishery.

I used to make fun of bird watchers not anymore.
I have a pair nesting in back of property they are definitely neat to watch especially with a couple of cold Lagers and camera.............
Its amazing how quick their young grow.
Been watching them from archery stand,I like to watch them fly into nest or perch.

I saw a pair circling over Elk.

Give a man a fish and he will eat for a day. Teach him how to fish and he will sit in a boat and drink beer all day.
