10/5 10/6

Well here is my report for the weekend.  It is not as good as Johns but here it goes.

Started the weekend getting up Saturday to go and could not find my new License anywhere.  Turned the house upside down looking for it.   After a 2 hour fruitless search I go to Pineville and get replacement for the fishing .  Bad thing is I may have lost the doe tag I got for good,   will call NYS DEC tomorrow to see if it can be replaced.

It was MOBBED from pretty much the compactor down.   Decided to go to a trib just to see what was up  saw a DEC truck parked there and said what the heck I will walk back. There were not alot of cars either.     Water was WAY low.   There were a few fish around and as usual the deeper holes.    Now my  gripe and good news.   I am fishing to a few fish from upstream and running my line down to them.   Here comes Mr. Jersey himself runs over and yells "Hey man there's 2 fish right there"   I said  "I know" .  He then runs over,  5 feet away from them and starts the sideways ripping  and 2 of his friends start in too.  To my surprise just as I was getting ready to blow my stack  I hear.   "Can you guys step out of the water".    TICKETS FOR ALL  were given and one guy was nice enough to not have a license and he got 2.   Guys were PI$$ED.    I walked back to my car with the officer.   He told me he saw the whole thing and does not know how I did not go postal on them,  he said he wrote "Quite a few tickets"  that's why there were no cars left.  Said I was the only one "fishing" on the whole creek.

Went to my usual and there were fish jumping everywhere,   managed to hook up  a few times got none to the bank.    There were fish digging redds EVERYWHERE.  It was very cool to watch them.  Many fish digging quite close to shore on the other side.   Best part was that the folks over there were leaving them alone and letting them do there thing.      Hot color was Orange.

Went back today to Pineville with the nephew and walked a bit, did not even wet a line as there were just too many people.   Went back to my spot and.   Fished up towards my usual spot through the rain  and did pretty well with 3 to net counting the one hooked under the chin.  Again lots of air time going on and more Redds being dug.   Let the nephew fight a few and he learned the term KNUCKLE BUSTER. He managed to hook up x 2 on his own today with what seem to be good hooks by  eyeball and how the fish fought.   Was quite proud if him as he is now good enough to tie his own flies on now and fix a bad tippet.   He is far better on his second trip out than I was.   It slowed down for a while and I could tell he got bored, but he stuck it out, even through the rain.  Hot colors today were orange again,  red and chartreuse.   There also seems to be more and more Steel in the mix.

Is it me or are there more HUGE fish this year than in the past.   Sorry no pictures today.

Jack everything was pretty good today. I think the rain had something to do with it.    Not much of anything going on.  Guys were actually letting the fish dig Redds  close to shore and not bothering them.    At  the very end  a group of about 5 drunk guys came down.   I mean staggering drunk.   One guy fell asleep on the rocks and one hooked his hat and flung it in the water.   The Zone was pretty open both days.  I did see one guy that had a leader that looked to be too long   and one guy with what looked to be running line.

Clint, ain't it amazing how the learning curve gets more flattened when experience teaches a new comer rather than blind trial and error... good for you and your efforts for passing on the passion. Nice report.

Glad to hear the instant Karma!  That's priceless, Clint. Great report, sounds like lots of fun, with the exception of the NJ invasion.
