I really dug this video on carp fishin with flys.. Ya dont have to travel far to find some really great places for carp but i prefer the larger streams or rivers.. They seem to be stronger fish than those from a pond or lake where they dont fight the current all day long.. Its as close to steelheadin as i can get around here.. Hopefully it will help me develop some skill when it comes to more prestigious fish. Hope ya enjoy!

Heading to West Branch of Susq to target carp this weekend with Mike Obrien who guides for them there. Tough fishing long cast and accurate casts. Need clear water to see them mudding for crayfish.

So far, id say carp are considerably tougher to catch on the fly than steelhead. Much more spooky. But definitely a much more abundant target, at least in summer.

I've caught a couple on small streamers and had some lookers but no hookups on bread flies at a certain lake that they feed on top quite regularly.

I don't think the fly Is so important though. I think they'll suck up just about anything. Its all about a good presentation from my very limited experience.
