     Are your Deer turning color already too or is it just the glare ?? Mine are still kinda red with Summer hair..

    started turning colors last week here .. plus they did not even show up for three days in a row this week .. not a single deer spotted or on camera =  Tues. Weds, or Thurs... ????

    Neat Photos doc, the earliest I have ever seen shedding was 28 Aug. Sept 1-10 seems to be when the majority do it in my area.  They are starting to work the early oak and the cherry which may be why your sightings are starting to slip. My feeling is the bigger bucks also start to become a bit more secretive once they start into hard antler.

    He is still heading to the neighboring camp to eat apples though... just not taking the same routes or travel times as he was earlier....
     
    I'm still hoping to see him on Oct 5th  though. Even though it is a Saturday .. I have asked for the day off to hunt him !!!! !!!!

    Interestingly the bigger of the 3  8 pointers I am seeing is NOT shedding yet as you can see from this morning....

    Great capture Doc!  I have never been fortunate enough to catch one in the act of shedding.
