    No.
I bought around 25 of them a few years ago and have never broke the 10 or so that I have used.
New ones probably have hooks made in China

Can you recommend a source for tying mini foos or can you tell me how to tie them?

    Thanks!

Cabelas has fly tying jig head and other array of jigs that can be made into mini foo like jigs.  Just get the weight you would like to use and go to local tying shop for materials.  I personally prefer marabou over the hackle they use on mini foos.  Get a variety of colors in white, black, olive, chartruese, pink and so on... BAC also has painted jig heads that you can buy and would be able to instruct you more on how to tie them..

I have been using them for years &  have caught a lot of big fish including carp, catfish & northerns & seldom had hooks break, but the past couple of years I have had a lot of trouble with the hackle & thread coming unraveled. I buy mine,so now as soon as I get them home I clean out the eyes & put clear lacqure on the threads. btw I don't think that it neccesary to use the "steelhead' type. I feel that the hooks are too large & heavy & since I normaly use 4# test line the reg. 1/64 & 1/32 size is fine.  sam
