Yep and we have to buy it by the tub it seems the last few years.     He throws in the rock salt and sand for free though

Strange how things have changed.  We were raised to study hard, work hard and perhaps you'll make something of yourself.  Today's message is quite the opposite, work, don't work, but if you do don't earn too much because it'll impact your ability to receive subsidies.  Subsidies for votes is a new and improved form of slavery.  God Bless America.

Some people think they've won if they end up with the most toys.
Some think they win if they build some kind of giant monument to their egos.
Some think by doing the most good they win.
In the end its a game that nobody wins.

Apparantly there are a lot of people in favor of slavery as a way of life as they keep voting for it.However the slaves of today just sit on their fat asses and collect their checks while the people that think they should work for their living pay for the "lazy asses".

I believe the start of it all came from reforms that Lyndon b. Johnson set ...but correct me if I'm wrong as im no historian. I looked at a multi graph measuring the unemployment rates, welfare and all other public aids and it seems as if after all of these years its gotten us no where except stuck in the most "un" politically incorrect society... I do believe there are honest folks that do need or deserve the help, but it seems to be a viscious snowball that will not stop rolling. Too many scammers and dishonest people taking hard earned money from honest hard workers... and on the opposite end you've got rich corporates receiving billions in tax credits for whatever scam them and their lawyers put together. It definitely sucks big time. I've accepted being stuck in the middle for the time being though. I have more important things in life to do instead of trying to change the world. And I agree with twobob that in the end who really wins?

Wow , I like Charlie sheen always like to think I'm winning. With all the pitfalls that get thrown at me I still have family , friends and get to enjoy time doing the things that make me smile in most situations. If I could leave all the B.S. behind I surly would but its some of the struggles of life that make me appreciate the fun even more and I'm not ready to die just yet.
Many things are so outta control that are far beyond my just ****ing . We ( I ) only do that to release the day to day pressures then thankfully I get to do the things I enjoy most.

Ah well, with this snow is ( has) brought me down a bit too and maybe after trying to drag a sled through it this weekend I might just be calling for the spring dance from Jack to welcome the stripers out back again .

Good luck to the tail washer lodge.

Andy, yes L Johnson started the "great society" and now we are where we are today.I agree that there are those that need help because of bad breaks in life but today it has become a career for many.I feel anyone on the take should have to work on public service jobs until they get a real job.I also feel that food stamps should be for the bare neccesties of life not shopping carts full of Dorritos, you ever stand behind these people in a cashier line and see what they buy?
Then you have the other end of the income scale where bankers get millions $ "bonus" for driving the entire economy to the brink of financial disaster!
And you're right....in the end we all meet the real boss.

Rich, yes the spring dance should start soon.....at the moment I'm too tired from moving snow week/day after week/day.

I heard something like that too.   Had  2 friends eat up there last week and here are their take's.      I quote taken directly from Facebook:
One I hope is not true
"Place is horrible. Staff picked on how poor the area is with me there!!"
and then
"Food was good, had no issues with the staff. Definitely not what you'd expect in Altmar."

I myself will probably never eat  there.   My wife and I for the most part consider eating  at restaurants over rated and would rather put $100  into our retirement accounts, save for vacations or buy something than put it someone elses pockets.   We probably eat out at one of the chain jobs  (Red Lobster,  Chilies ect)  2 or 3 times at a  a year other than a quick bite when on the road  at a diner or something.

Clint I'm with you .. I really don't like eating dinners out much myself and avoid chain pre made meals ..  We rarely eat out but every so often  if the wife and I are away we will try a local establishment cook to order place..  We tried one up in Schroon last weekend that was a local brewery as well.. While the food was good the prices were not..
Last year while staying at the Skyler hotel in cuse we tried their food, again it was good but WAY to $$$.. I can think of better ways to put my dollars to use rather then flushing it down the toilet..

I don't eat out much because I can cook gourmet meals at home.  I've worked in restaurants and had my own catering service so I know my way around the kitchen.
