ERIE CO. DOE TAGS

my tags came in the mail yesterday from the Erie Co. courthouse.  I'm trying to remember if this is the first time they got them out before september.

Not Erie Tags, but 4D, the PGC website shows that I was awarded bonus tags on 8-5, and I have yet to get them.  I live 4 miles form the courthouse.  Perhaps they were lost in transite.  Or they are sitting on someone's desk waiting to get mailed.

DarDys, I used to be the once a week replacement mailman for the Erie Co. courthouse, plus i carried that route every time the regular was off.  got to see first hand how this operaton went.  as the apps came in, they would all go to the co. treasurers office.  after all were received they would be split up and I would see piles of pink envelopes on different employess desks throughout various offices on the first floor.  these employees would then work on the tags as they got time in between their regular duties.  I never picked up any out going tags in with the regular outgoing mail and I don't know if the regular did either.  I'm assuming they were taken to the P.O. in bulk after they were done processing all the applications.  I'm also assuming this is how it's done throughout the state's courthouses.  Still don't understand why they just can't give them to us when we get our licenses.  When I get my New York license online, my doe tag comes attached to my license when it comes in the mail a week later.

My 2F first round tag came pretty quick from Venango..but my 2D has yet to show..but we all have plenty of time..pretty sure the state law mandates the tags be mailed by 9/1

Doc, i do believe that was 2 or 3 years ago.  ECCH didn't get the tags out until well into september, then apologized because of all the complaints, saying they didn't have the manpower.  psu_fish has a point to his sarcasm though.  if you check on line and see that you've been awarded one, what's the difference as long as you get it by the start of the first season.  on second thought, now that it just dawned on me, if there was a problem with your application, or if they were going to return your app because you put the stamp on upside down (more sarcasm),  i guess i would want to know a heck of alot sooner than october.

i think as long as the stamp is on the envelope who cares? i guess i should try it sometime and see if it gets rejected

It arrived Saturday.   So it only took three weeks from the time it was awarded until it got to my house.
