Allegheny River levels

Anybody been up to the Tionesta/Tidiote area of the Allegheny in the last two days? If so, how is the water color and does it appear safe to wade/yak?

Water is still stained but clearing every day. Level is also looking pretty good.

Check the levels at the West Hickory bridge:

The lowest I usually see in the summer is 3.5 feet. it is currently just under 4 foot. Anything less than 5 foot is usually safe.

Where are you planning on floating?

You can also find water levels anywhere in the country at rivergages.com.  Very easy to use.

I'll second that - Thanks for the info...I was worried with all the rain we've got over the past 3-4 weeks that our trip this week was going to be bad/water rippin'...

The islands above Tidioute are a nice midway over-night stop. You can always run into town if you need anything.

    Tight lines.
