I will keep that in mind......I will most likely post it Wednesday, American Idol starts tomorrow, and I refuse to watch that, so I will have plenty of tying time for the next few months cause the wife likes it, so while she watches the I retreat to the tying bench..

    O.K. Here we go......

    1. Materials

    2. Line the hook, I like to get a few passes cause the white thread is somewhat transluscent.

    3. Tie in two bunches of Red Polar Fiber, one on each side of the hook.

    4. Tie in a bunch of White Polar Fiber, try to double the size of the red bunches.

    5. Whip Finish and glue...

    6. Place two stick on eye, one on each side.

    7. Next place plug in your hot glue gun, place your fly in your hackle pliers, and have a cup of water ready. Be sure that your glue gun has had plenty of time to heat up, place the clear glue in an mold the head of the fly, once your happy with it plunge it into the water to cool it in place.

    8. To make the yolk sac, change the glue to the color desired, an mold your sac, once your happy with it plung it into the water to cool it in place.

    9. Finish Fly

Recomendations: I recomend doing this fly in Steps, I will tie about 10 at a time, doing steps 1 - 6 to all ten flies, then do step 7 to all 10, then do step 8 to all 10. The reasoning for this is having to use two different glue colors, changing glue in a glue gun is not easy. Also practice molding your head and yolk sacs on bare hooks until you get the hang of it.....

    Nice looking fly.

Do you miss alot of fish on it?  The yolk sac seems to close the hook gap alot.  This is the reason I don't bother with moe eggs (hot glue eggs) any more.

Yeah the yolk sac is kinda tight on this fly and thats another good thing to watch for while tying this fly, you can also select another hook as well....

A nice pattern, although I agree with D-nymph that the hot melt does interfere with hook set by decreasing hook gap.

Here ( BH Ferruled Alevin ) is a simple yet effective pattern.
By using Egg Yarn or McFly Foam for the yoke, there is plenty of give in the material for hook set ability.

I'm not suggesting that the pattern i posted and use myself is the ultimate Alevin fly.....there are many patterns utilizing yarns for the yoke sac...the sky's the limit when you tie your own flies, be creative!!

Just a thought.... why not build the hot glue egg yolk right on the shank to save the gap, elongated and not so heavy... that would help.

I personally like the look of the glue, im not a fish though, not yet anyhow.

I used this fly with good success in WNY for Browns. The egg is tied with glo-bug yarn so unlike the glue it holds in theeth of the fish. The eyes are 3d stick on and small tubing with pulling angle hair through the tubing and leaving it slightly sticking out. Then epoxy over the head. Mike Mercer pattern on a size 10.

ever try to turn the hook over, like a clouser?  add a small dumbell and you have a clouser style fly with no hooking impedence.
