woo-hoo, that time of year again. having deer stand dreams already. and you know, i'm not sure if it's because i signed up for online PGC news, but they sent me an email telling me applications will be accepted starting 7/8.

I sent my application to McKean County this year for 2F instead of Brookville, Jefferson County... like I have for 30 plus years... results... got a 2F tag yesterday (Monday) at 2:30 pm...
so again 3 antlerless tags for 2013 = venison in the freezer again this year !!!!!

Never count your tags as meat in the freezer, good way to jinx yourself Dave. Unless u count rd. kill like you have in the past.....

Son and I got tag number 1,we buy 3 each but seldom shoot that many. Last year we killed 3 out of 6 tags. We have become trophy hunters. lol We have had very good luck on some big bucks the pasted few years.

oh well, thems the breaks. wonder why though, always seems to be a few thousand left for the non-residents. word must have got out about all our corn fed deer.

word must have got out about all our corn fed deer.
I can attest to that. Shot my first 1B deer last year, a doe. And it was the biggest, fattest doe I'd ever shot. Then again I'm 95% 3A hunter. Needless to say I picked up my 1B this year too. Not going to guess on the weight since didn't get her on a scale.

Almost all counties out of doe licenses. I just know its a banner year for deer. In my yard, laying dead on the roads, running in fields. I hope there will be some left for me when my time comes....WF
