You don't know ****!!!

Well, to be exact, I don't know this chit:

What is it from?  Bear brought out by the f'd up weather?  Constipated deer?  Porcupine?  I found it right next to a well used deer trail.  I've heard of bear being on this hill years ago, but no reports this year of any.

Looks like old frozen deer pooopy.  I think clumpy/scattered poopy comes from certain diet, not deer sex.

Agreed.  I believe that when you see the scattered pellets (Raisinettes), it indicates a diet of woody browse and the clumpier types (like in the picture) indicate a diet consisting more of grasses.  I'll have to ask somebody.  Most of the people I hunt with know I dont mind talking about poop anyway.

Well, the votes are in.  It's deer poopy for sure.

As far as the diet is concerned, this area is the only place I've seen this kind of scat in the past.  I just never took a picture and asked a forum 'bout it before.  There really isn't much grass anywhere nearby this year.  There are tons of nuts on the ground, enough wild grapes to choke a Frenchman, and with the warm snap, there were buds on the trees, to go along with standing corn in the fields surrounding the woodlot.  The deer would have to have been pushed in from a couple miles away for it to have been in any grassy areas.  Certainly not impossible.  I obviously wouldn't mind if other areas were getting over-pressured late in the year, since this area was hit hard during the rifle season.  Not in kills, just in pressure.

Thanks to all who chimed in.

Good news for deer hunters for next Fall.  I did a lot of late flintlock hunting, finally finding a herd of deer and getting a shot off last day, a miss unfortunately.  There are still a ton of deer out there.

For me, this was my last year hunting solo.  My oldest may change her mind and finally go with me, and my soon to be 8 yr old has expressed an interest in the mentor program.  There will be plenty of deer to hunt, lots of turkeys and squirrels to watch and possibly hunt, and maybe even a chance to go after bear for the first time.  I hope everyone had a great season, I know I did.
