Some Guidance Please?

I was going to go out of Port Clinton on a headboat for walleye on June 7, but everyone is saying that the walleye are gone by then and the trip probably wouldn't be worth it. Instead, I might go out of Erie for perch. What do you guys think? It's my Father's Day present from my wife. I don't want to waste a trip.

Just talked to Sassy Sal charters out of Port Clinton and they told me that June was usually a great month for walleye. So, maybe I'll give them a try. Anyone ever try them out?

Went out of Clinton 1 time about 6 years ago on Fathers Day. We did great. They said the boat had limited out for 10 straight days. We did casting. No trolling needed.....WF.. Used a 5 weight, 9 foot glass rod. Tough slinging the spinners and meat but I could feel the eyes better then anyone else. Captain said he never saw it done but i'll bet it wasnt the last time. Impreessed the heck out of him.

There are walleye in the western basin year round.  The hot jig bite on the reefs is over by then but the fish just move to deeper water.  They will probably have you throwing weapons and counting down.  The head boats should know where they are because that is how they make their money.  I would just go always nice to be out on the water when the wife gives you permission lol
