You know it czonk.  Well I catch mine like that, MO usually fishes with a rod and some bait for them.

The Lord has blessed us all today... It's just that he has been particularly good to me.

i prefer a rod and reel, but, some people catch snapping turtles the same way. you can see them all over the place, heavy metal concerts and university of texas football games.

the early bird may get the worm, but the second mouse gets the cheese.

I've never gone after big cats like that but as a youngster some 50 odd years ago I used to catch bullheads like that on the Yough River mud flats when they were spawning near West Newton. That was more fun than catching them on a line.

Wonder how many big cats like that a person would really need. I stayed at the Santee Cooper area one summer and watched several trotliners bring in tub after tub of fish every day. They would fillet, bag'um and put them on ice. I'm talking hundreds of pounds of cleaned fish a week. Guess they were selling them. Even on waters the size of the Santee Lakes I feel the fishery needs monitored a bit more to limit the amout of fish taken out. Over the past 15 years the numbers and size of the cats caught by rod and reel have diminished greatly.
