Would you rather.........

Went tonight to a small creek a mile from the home.   Been wanting to try it for a bit and did.   Water was about perfect in my book and fairly clear.   I only managed a few chubs.   Here is my ?????????
 
Would you rather catch
6 or 7 chubs   or 1 small palm sized  brookie
If you chose the brookie  would you rather not catch a thing if you did not catch that.
 
I caught only a few chubs tonight and in all reality was happy I pulled anything out of there.   The beavers have mad a mess back there.   I saw trees close to a foot in diameter chewed down by them.

    There is a old song...something is better than nothing....just being out in nature and alive is good enough for me.
    Those beavers are industrious creatures,busy as a beaver the saying goes,and that was me scrubbing the deck and brick front stoop.....I'm tired and going to bed!

    Not been up for Steel at all this season.Dad passed away in Jan. and been busy helping Mom sell house and make move to my Sis'. Was up at Oswego last Sat. to fix my son's car.Brought the gear,of course.Got to spend about two hours on a smaller creek.Had something good on for about ten seconds. Caught six suckers . It was great to be out and bend a rod. Jumped back in the truck and four hours home. Any fishing is good fishing.

    I would certainly rather catch the brookie, but if the stream was large enough to maintin flow of cold water all summer, only catching chubs might just be an indication that the brookies were not biting.  I know they have a reputation for being easy to catch, but sometimes they are not biting, and it does not matter what you toss or how far back you walk, unless they turn on you are catching chubs.  If the beaver pond is new, I'd be planning to go back in a year or so, and if it is recent, I'd get back once the water warms up.
