Camp
Am kinda stealing this from the other forum -welll not kinda- am just stealing it.
Not a member over there and couldnt comment but thought some here may like the conversation and observations.
Guess the crust of the matter is this - "is having a camp worth it ??".
My personal observation is YES -with limitations.
I bought an old run down house trailer on 10 acres for a steal. Its 3 miles from the Pineville Bridge in decent Deer and Turkey hunting.
Took about 3 years of frequent visits and sweat to cleanup and rebuild the place and reconstitute the yard.
Now have a 3 bedroom 2 full bath decent place with a decent size kitchen and living room and a nice room off the side. Total of over 1,200 feet of living space. Got the yard to about a level acre of grass. Did over the sheds too.
Its a very liveable house now that a family could easily move into without any new work. Neat -clean and well kept.
Set back off the road and easily year round and I use it year round too.
It takes time, money and effort to maintain that way. Taxes -plowing and up a lot just to mow and maintain. With a larger commitment one must realize there is more to the area than just fishing and enjoy it that way-lol
There IS an end date when I cant keep it up anymore.
Some like a camper in the woods or a cabin with little or no upkeep or just a spot for a tent during whatever season they enjoy as a 2 or 3 time a year getaway with few upkeep issues and low taxes.
Different strokes.
Opinions--
( yes , am -and likely will always be a POS outastater no matte how much I try)
