There isn't a single "RIVER" in this state that holds Steelhead.......

I was thinkin if you're fishin a river, there is a host of assorted fish you could target other than trout.

Depending on what part of the Pittsburgh area you are staying in you are roughly 2 hours from a number of good steelhead "creeks" and a couple of "rivers," as well.  The runs may be winding down that late in April but there should still be enough fish around to make it worth your while(hint:  not all of the fishing is in PA).  You are also within an hour(or better yet, 2 hours) of some pretty good trout fishing at that time of year.  Enjoy your stay.

Pittsburg Ca, the "Steelhead rivers" are three hours North. ;-)
    Pittsburgh Pa,
I don't know what you are used to but I tried steelhead fishing here a few times and it was kind of an elbow to elbow thing and not real enjoyable. It's not fishing for steelhead out West where you pretty much have a chunk of river to yourself. Here it tends to be creek inlets and a bunch of guys battling for the few coming upstream. I'm trying again this year but from a kayak rather than doing the elbow to elbow thing.
