Are the suckers in?

Seriously are they? If they are how big do they average and are they fun to catch? What would you use to catch them? (Flies preferably)

Going up Saturday and if we don't do to well for steelhead if rather catch something than nothing, it's a fish, they are all fun to catch.

i dont know if they're in.  But they are ok to catch.  For me its only fun for the first 2, then i get disappointed that it's not a steelhead.  They don't put up much of a fight after 30 seconds or so.  But yes, better than nothing.
They usually stay in the lower reached of the creeks from my experience.  And then all the smolts in the upper areas.

Yes they are in on lower Elk for sure.
They like the deep areas with not much current.
If you find em and want to catchem you will catch as many as you want.
They were 2-3 lbs the other day but in the past I have caught them 5-8lb range.
Not much fun to catch really they do not fight much especialy now the water is still cold.
But yes they are a fish.I would rather catch suckers than smolts but both are a waste of bait.
Bait works best but they hit flies too.Use a sucker spawn pattern seems fitting.

Alright, well if the steelhead aren't cooperating with us I will go after a few of these.  Now you said they don't fight well, is it just because of the cold water or are they just not good fighters.

they don't fight well compared to steelhead (or Smallie)and never jump or make drag smoking rocket runs
But they tug a line around like most other  fish
