UPS instead of USPS more likely. Of course as it stands now UPS uses the postal service to deliver to hard to reach off the beaten path locations so if you don't live in suberbia your screwed. Then you did get my PM saying tongue in cheek? My screen jumped and your post abot Alvin Lee was in front of me and I didn't know what happened.

Actually, the rock with your size 16 boot prints worn into it is 20 feet downstream, and that pocket has filled in, so if there is any money changing hands it should be coming my way for the e-guiding! Forgot about the little brown stones, but that is 30 miles of driving, and I still can't put out the 90 footers that Rosenbaur was throwing to get the browns, but yes there were always bows using all that gravel too. Tough call for the weekend, I had to go to a wake on the westside yesterday and crossed the Gennie at Veterans's on the way home and it is in lovely shape right now as well, you still need the waders to get on the island, but the color is perfect, and it certainly has not been pounded with all the high water this winter. Blood work Saturday AM says I'll be close to home in the AM, but on the draw is done, maybe I'll enrich Standard Oil a little. I'll let the truck decide! My wife wants me to go buy a washing machine I've been trying to get her to go look at all winter, this weekend - NOT! L13

Flood may have moved the rock downstream a might but the hole is no more than 3 feet upstream or down current depending on how you want to look at it. May the phantom mask of death Kern lift every fish from the hole by cutting off your drift with 5 #2 shot.

Cheese, some guys can't take a joke at all! Went by yesterday for the last hour. Six or so guys in the parking lot pool, one under the old bridge more cars indicated folks downstream. One hit in the falls when I first got there and saw a little one , 3-4 lbs, start up the chute and then drop back down. Other than that, blank. Went back down to the lot at dark, spinner there said it died Wednesday and has been very slow since. Need another shot of rain to bring up another push. Probably mid week next week, but we can fish late after Saturday as we Spring Ahead an hour. Of couse, Tuesday is the State of the Lake meeitng, so that's when the big run will go through. 5 #2's huh, I though 6 # 5's was a lot. L13

Well the bad news: Got about 9 " wet snow and still coming down. Mud season has begun.. Good news: Lake George only got light snow and going to be 45 & sunny tomorrow :) Listening to Furthur 2/24/13 now and getting psyched about the ice :) Oops: Wrong thread , phone is only as smart as the operator :(

Ole Ed was a strong old curmudgin an 5 # 2s didn't phase him in the least. Think I'll be there before false dawn tomorrow for an hour or so before the child brides wakes up. When the water skinnies up my old raft downstream can pick up some action. Also that's when the frog water at Stubby's camp can fill up with stonefly eaters. If they are calling for afternoon sun on Tues I might make a trip and see what happens with the morning fishers. A lot like waiting out a sulpher spinner fall. Watching the clouds lowering in the willows and people leaving cause the good fishing to the hatch has died. OK I release you from the curse of the mask of death.

Hit 4 in 2 hours after work on Friday, but all were on and off crushed bag affairs. Got up Saturday at 04:30, puttered for 1/2 hour, sat down to put boots on, clock said 5, opened eyes, clock said 07:30 one boot on, one off! Getting old really B*t*s. Getting ready to go over and my wife asks me to go visit an old friend in the hospital, as we are getting set to go, we get a call, and find out he passed over night. Got out late in day but only one on, water going up from snow melt. Sunday, 4 PM arrival (morning church gigs can be a drag when the run is on!) did 4, all slobs, and 2 crushd bags, but I was on the left bank and there is a tree down that every fish goes for. Nearly lost the flyline to one run through. The run is still going strong down here in Rochester. Kudos to the porcine lifters who were across the creek from me yesterday afternoon, 2 adults and a kid, left a whole days worth of pop bottles, water bottles and trash on the ground. Since when they left, I crossed and occupied their spot, I picked it up, but you could return to no fishing signs if you continue to trash the place up, it is a town park and your access is not guaranteed. Dbags will be Dbags ( and teach their children to be Dbags) and the rest of us will have to do our best to clean there messes up at our own favorite spots. Thanks for the heads up as I will be sure to have a plastic bag tomorrow.

Luck and bee... nice to hear your reports...things really started braking up and flowing today... area creeks should be blowing out tomorrow... depending on the rain the salmon could really start juicing by mid/late week...although the snow pack is rather dense and thick as of yesterday up towards tug... from this point on there should be fish showing up in the typical spawning areas as each day goes by... good luck and be safe guys...

Thanks , Dime, I stopped at Home Depot tonight on the way home from the wake and bought some homebuilder's strapping and hardware to re-assemble the Korker that died yesterday. Time for you to put away the hammer for a few days and worry some fish! L13

Putting down the hammer today only to pick up the jack hammer and shovel!!! Lol... I actually took your tip about the waterfall spot and made it out to a waterfall spot of mine this past Friday. No luck for me but I did see quite a few fish trying to jump the falls... I spent most time untangling my son's line :) I am going to try my darndest To hit the creek drop That will be happening; When??? I dunno ;)

You can go fishing or you can take a kid fishing, but generally you can't do both. But if things go right you'll have someone to take you when you are getting old and need help with the knots and the driving. At this point in the run, anytime you can get away is the best time to go, high water, low water, in between water. And my 2 best days have been when I only had 1-1.5 hours to fish. L13

Lucky, all ive had this whole season for the most part were 1-2 hour outings and ive faired pretty well...my son has been out a few times this season. Ive got him set up with a 6'6" spin rod with an open face.... i keep the drag loose and set a weighted styrifoam bobber up on it. He casts by himself and drifts good. The bobber relieves me from hoim getting hung up on the bottom. Im just waiting for the day that bobber goes down. It should happen soon... he has a fly rod and reel in a five weight. I think hes ready to start practicing that this spring and summer for trout and bass as he will be six in a few weeks... im looking forward to a few years from now when he wont need any direction from me and i can finally start fishing again

Yea it's as high as I have seen in a while up there and looks as if it may have crested.

That's what I am feeling HT. I have been driving here or there up north ice fishing pretty much every Saturday and Sunday for the last 2 months. I may be ready for a break and stay home. If the river calms a little and sinks to around 1k I may sneak up but I am really not feeling it. The bug will bite soon enough though and hopefully so will the fish.
