Fished Green point today on Sandy pond.  Ice was about 4 to 6 inches and popping and snapping like crazy all day.  Day started off bad as I got to port Ontario and had to turn around as I left my auger at home.  Fished about 6 hours and caught about 30 perch and 2 dink pike jigging.    I lost a decent pike at the hole as I was not using a leader on my tip ups because I fish  for Perch and crappie with them. Fished until my bait ran out and that was a good thing  Only bad thing  on the whole day was I was alone and had no one to share  it with

Ice was a poppin'  and crackin ' bad today.  There was only about 4 to 6 inches so it will not take much,  but you are  right DB by the looks of the forecast  I will be out next weekend too.

Not trying to hijack but hate to start a thread for this--any 'stat of the lake' reporting as yet ??
Figured this might be close since the ice reports are from the lake.
Did read a report that its warmer than normal but the article didnt say how much. Idiots did a whole article bout warmer water in some of the Lakes  and never said the temps. (half a degree ?? more  ?? woulda been nice to know)  lol.

The SOL meeting for Rochester is, I believe, scheduled for March 14 at RIT as usual.   If they are true to form, Oswego should be one day before and Lockport one day later.  I can not understand why they can't get a notice for something that requires renting a room more than 2-3 weeks before the event.  Watch the DEC website.
