Tournament Fishing

Well, I am finally making the move to competitive fishing.  Always wanted to and talked about it but never actually did.  However, this year I am pulling the trigger and will be fishing with my brother in the KBBC.  As a first-timer, looking for some advice, tips, etc. on what to except and some things I should be aware of.  Also, anybody else's past experiences with competitive fishing as a newcomer would be appreciated. 
 
On another note, I know its a little early but might be looking for someone to fish some Wed. night tournaments on Lake Arthur.  My fishing partner (my brother) works nights so he is not an option.  I have the boat, just looking for someone with some knowledge that can bring something to the table.  Just a thought.

    Let me start off by saying tourney fishing is amazing.  My partner and I have been together since we were 15 fishing over 5 clubs.  This year we are moving up in the world and fishing KBBC as well.  Most of the guys you will meet are awsome dudes.  Very friendly.  Make sure you have you money paid up before the tourney to get a decent boat number if possible.  They will check your livewell and maybe for life jackets.  Make sure you always check in at least 45 mins before.  I think KBBC is any where from like an hr to hr and a half before.  Just leave yourself enough time to check in and launch because your talking a line of 50 to 100 guys at the ramp.  Never step on any guys toes and ask him what he's catching them on specifically or the areas he's fishing.  Always read the rules of the tourney as well.  I mean its pretty basic!  Your more then welcome to come say hello and b.s. with us.  I run a 16 foot carolina skiff with a Nissan on the back and we are pretty easy to pick out since we are in our 20's and not most guys running skiffs are older lol  We wont be at any events till Pymie.  Just always make sure your preped before the tourney too!
