On the ice today

Well I finally got a report.
Fished Sackets Harbor from 10 to 1 and caught one perch.   Saw a few flags, but nothing much.   6 to 8 inches of ice over by marina  and 4 to 6 inches in front of the launch seemed like the farther out you went the closer to 4.  I did not go farther than the marina in front of the launch.

Went to Lakeview and there was 4 or so inches of ice.   Fish one spot for an hour with not a bite.   Moved 100 feet and we caught about 15 dink crappies.   Flags for smaller pike were more numerous here.

Overall not much going on either place.

Clint glad to hear you got out... some friends of mine hit the pond on sarurday and slammed some very nice pike and some good sized perch. Largest pike was a 30" and perch was 13...

Wanted to go there, but there was a tourney and did not want the crowd.  At 30 I hope they entered because last I heard the larges pike was 28.5.   may hit the pond this weekend if all goes well.

Clint that's awesome you hit the hard water. 4" ? Geesh and to think we were drilling int a foot and more.
You'll need to spend much more time out to justify the over priced electronics. Will say its a game changer though for sure. Kinda like bobber fishin .. Lol
Anyway. My 3 day adventure was great , the fishing was less then steller ( even with electronics.. Lol
Hope you get many more walks on the hard stuff, it's really FUN.
    er' Jack..

    P.S.
Sorry guys , haven't tied a single fly yet. Too much fishing and not enough hrs in the day.
Another 3 day ice weekend coming but
    Tie I will . Soooooon

I have been going back and forth on the sonar for a bit now.  Really cannot justify it for 5 or 6 trips a winter.  Looking for a used one now. May try to rig the one up off my boat only need to get a transducer, cable and a battery.    Will try to hit Sandy pond this weekend and see how that goes.
