    Yes
Jigs are deadly in the right hands.
Most of the time fishing low clear water is best for jigs, try to quarter cast downstream and jig mid water column to holding fish, the trick is to keep it in front of them as long as possible

Try different movement methods, swimming a jig with small slow twitches can work, as can vigourously shaking a jig as well.  I have a crappy video from a few years ago showing how we usually jig with a flashabou jig, you can see the "shaking" technique here.

Slow twitch and a steady retrieve have produced fish when nothing else seems to work. It is fun to watch them chase it, then grab the jig. I like to use gold jigs.
After I catch one, I usually don't catch another one close to that spot. Don't know why.

Black Mr twisters can be deadly. Catch em over the bedding area.

Yeah jigs can be deadly in the right conditions. I like all flashabou in silver. More subtle colors work too but I like to see the jig. If you can hold it right in front of their nose and twitch the crap out of it you can get em.

Ive used jigs before to hook a few myself , the best part of it is when they hit that jig you know it ! They slam that thing.

Ive seen Loomis and Mr.fishrmn slay da steel on jigs !

In low clear water there is nuthin like seeing one peel off from the pod to chase and slam a jig!

I often use a 1/32 oz gold jig tipped with an emerald shiner. I cast quartering upstream and just twitch the tip of the rod ever-so-slightly as it passes through the zone. You have to take up the slack with your left hand while holding the rod with your right. As the bait begins it's downstream (of you) drift, let the slack go back out so the the jig stays in the zone longer. Anyone else do this?

i love jigging for steelies.  and yes as mentioned, watching them turn around and zoom towards it is fun!  Low and clear water working the jig alone is best but ive also got em in a dead drfit under a float.

^ This I don't do and think its a big no no.

I bury the hook hard when I set a hook on a jig, you have to get reckless sometimes.  Holding the line in your hand negates your rods action and will almost guarantee either line burn, a break off, or a weakened knot.

I'd imagine the majority of fisherman are fishing with a spin rod with shorter fore end, longer back end, in that case if I need to keep tight I use my pointer finger at the first joint.  The setup that Tim and I use takes this handle design and flips it 180 degrees, short back grip, longer front grip, allowing the rod to balance and get great jigging action with your whole hand without the longer rear grip getting in the way.  Also, Maintaining a tight line off the reel is key to translating the rods "jigging" action to the jig itself.

I use jigs almost exclusively. If there's good flow, I'll drift through ripples and let the float do the work. Sometimes long bounces work, sometimes short and fast jigging works. Once I find my color, I'll change the jigging rhythm here and there.

My go to colors are black, peach, white, olive, and an olive/green emerald lookalike. All of the ones I tie are marabou w/ flash.
