Steelhead Blues

Anybody got em' or getting their fix ?
Clint,3, & db..
The weather is getting squirreled again.. Ice is fine but, Seems like I should be standing in water.. Shoot even on the ice there is water..lol..
Almost tried my luck local today until the down pours came around 3pm..
Ah next time :)
Maybe a repeat of Stripers this year... :) Little snow melt unless a big blow out comes but I'm excited to get back into that game..

Hope you all get your steelhead fix, I feel the wiggler (aka SRS) coming on sooner then later..  Think I'll tie some chitty flies during the super bowl sunday too ..

Peace & Tuna

I touched one 2 days ago but my friend caught it... no fishing for me... maybe after thisto abnormally high water event i'll be able to get out. It was nice to see this season get dampered by the weather and flows once winter came along... the low water trend the past two years has really made it easy for the fish to get pounded... we're due for a high flow fall... its been a while...hopefully we get it this year...

Long term daily average flows for the Salmon indicate 400-500 cfs mainly in September, 500-700 in October, and the 800-900 range for November and December.  That is higher than what we've seen the last couple of years but certainly low enough for comfortable wading and easy fishing.  And of course it takes some higher numbers to offset the 200's.  We went one year in late September and hit ~5000 cfs, the slab of brick and concrete that broke off the wall across from the Silver Star that was the size of an Econoline Van ended up down below the Long Bridge!

The wackados that freeze blasted the kings that broke my rear spring.
Lucky smoked them and took it to a conservation council meeting.
Turned his back and it was gone.
Think people were filling their pockets.

John , bummer on the steel head blues. I got em' .
As pa said its freezing out and case as is , got a date for this weekend with the wife in Lake George for a 3 day ice blitz
Gonna try for those deep water slimers on the short pole again :))
Been on ice every week since Christmas :)

If you can hold a good flow for me another week I'd love nothing more then to hang for a day or 2 on the water to get a fix :)
