Arthur Ice?

Not wanting spots, just curious how Muddy creek is? Thinking about heading over this weekend, safe, any thicknesses?

Hey guys I go to Slippery Rock and was planning on fishing Lake Arthur starting next week. Would any one mind giving me some info? Is the water clear enough to use an underwater camera? Where can I get bait? and Where should I access the lake from? Thanks guys!

Thanks for the info, maybe I'm bugging, but, have another question. Is the ice good enough to park at the lower launch and walk up? Sorry, my 4WD is out right now, hate to take the ole mans up, cost to dang much to go to the upper launch. Or any where for that matter.

    B. You can take 173 out to Rt 8, and than down to 528. That will get you to the Muddy Creek arm and Shannons bay. Good fishing in either area. As for bait, O'Donnells on 19 south of 422, or App. Trails on 422 just east of where 528 intersects. Arthur is a big lake, lots of room to roam. I fished Muddy Creek, and Dutch Hollow this weekend. 6+" of ice in both spots.

Slipp, I fished Arthur last night at mt. zion with not much success. We caught 3 crappies and moved around a lot. not what I was expecting. Ed

Not sure about through the ice, but underwater camera is worthless on Arthur during the rest of the year.  If you do use it, and works, please post.  I might have to get an auger, just to justify my camera...

its better in the winter but still very limited. Either way getting an auger isnt a bad idea, if we could just get some consistent cold weather
